My Vlieger & Vandam sitting pretty on toile
It may not have been a recent purchase, in fact it wasn't even i purchase i made at all. It arrived beautifully wrapped, then encased in its very own dust bag; at the foot of my bed on the morning of my Birthday. All the way back in the Autumn, when the leaves had just begun to evolve into golden flurries that scattered the streets of london and every girl started hunting down the 'perfect' winter coat. The totally chic yet undeniably provocative Vlieger & Vandam Gun clutch.
Even though this enigmatic clutch has been in my possession for a few months now, it has only just become my go-to, every day, can't live without, would die for bag. I put this down to fear; the fact that i reside in the bustling capital of England and walking around with a gun shoved in your Vlieger & Vandam, (this to the Fash Pack is like "Pudding in your Prada" if i can quote Carrie Bradshaw.) only leads to misunderstandings and the odd look of alarm from your suited balding everyday commuter. Another issue i believe i had in the beginning on my journey of unrequited love for the Gun clutch was size, being used to oversized, never filling, Mary Poppin's bags, this bag proved a challenge. Not for actual size, i realised the oversized bags were just a fashion comfort blanket, fitting my everyday belongings into the Gun clutch was barely worth worrying about it all fitted with ease: iPhone- CHECK, Jaeger Purse- CHECK, Headphones- CHECK, Coco Butter Vaseline- CHECK, Oyster Card- Check, Keys- CHECK. The big hurdle was to now take such a daring piece into the outside world.
Now and again i do find myself turning the bag around, having the 'gun' facing me and not all the hundreds of suits i jump on trains with and walk past in the city centre, this is just out of habit, not out of hate. i love my bag and i wanting for my insecurities to do the same. Lets all embrace the weaponry fashion and push studs off the map..... just for a little bit?
