Overall, A Good Look

Necklace- Tiffany & Co, 'Love' Necklace- Swarovski, 'Horse Shoe' Ring bespoke from Heraklion, Ring bespoke Simon Milne

Okay, so yes the pun in the title was intended! It's reminiscent of a 'Dad' joke i know.. Sorry?. I also know this isn't exactly the outfit filled with many designers names, but i'm a real girl, a student and i have a little money situation where i actually have none. None the less i think this is a great look which shows just how good the high street can be.
Theres a lot of pressure on us fashion students to always have the latest seasons 'must have' pieces; society has this pre conceived notion that we keep the latest Louboutin's where we should be keeping our study books, Shourouk jewellery hanging from our lights and the latest Acne jacket in the oven. Unlike Sex & The City this is the real world and no fashion student lives like this, praise the high street. With its own versions of the latest seasons trends available for a much more accessible price. The only rule i really have with high street is do not by a direct knock off, even if it's a gorgeous pair of palazzo pants that you think resemble the Marc Jacobs palazzo pants, stay clear. if you made that connection it's likely another with an eye for fashion will too, do you want to be known as that girl with the Marc Jacobs knock offs?... i didn't think so.
Now i've shared my golden rule of high street buying, i'll revert back to my outfit of the day. All the jewellery that i'm wearing are gifts that i've been lucky enough to receive over christmas, birthdays and whilst holidaying, as you can tell i like something with a bit of sparkle but it needs to be understated and petite that way most of it will stay timeless and won't be pushed to the back of a draw come next season. The dungarees/ overalls are a piece i bought two years ago in the H&M branch in Brighton. They're so effortlessly cool, they can be worn at any time of the year as a casual sunday ensemble or in a dressed up look for the bars on a Saturday night. Despite buying them two years ago when i wear them out now i still get remarked and questioned on where they are from; now i get dungarees aren't everybody's 'thing' but these are my trusty, chic go to outfit staple. Embrace your inner hillbilly! The black camisole is something i picked up recently to cheer myself up (i had that dreaded christmas cold!). It's a wardrobe staple, black, plain, thin strap, camisole, enough said. Finally my shoes, which you can't see too well in the picture. i got them in the high street cave that is Zara, when i was in Crete actually, there's no escaping it. i find it to be one of those shops that once your in you have to buy something before leaving...Perhaps that says a lot about my style??.. The shoes are round toed platforms with a chunky heel, boosting my height considerably! with an ankle strap in a dull dove grey colour. Another shoe staple which will be interchangeable throughout seasons.
This was my outfit of the day which carried me through to an evening meal with friends, not bad for the high street eh?
