I'll Take It All

Stacked! - image not my own.
Wherever my eyes wander and whatever location or situation i may be or be in there is a trend manifesting itself into our lives whether we are consciously aware or not. Stacking, layering or even throwing an arm party, these are just some of the many terms coined by the fashion industry and the individuals inside it to describe one of the largest yet relatively unspoken or documented trends that we currently have. There is no questioning the fact that this trend has been trickling down society for a number of years now, gradually getting more excessive and more prevailing as it gains speed and size in its fashion domination.   I wouldn't call the exaggerated or sometimes subtle piling on of bracelets a key trend to abide by nor would i call it a micro trend, see the thing is it's been around for so long and has not been given much publicity, that this trend has almost embedded it's way into fashion without anyone really noticing enough to deem it a trend or a micro trend- much like the explosion of Vans or Converse a years ago (sort of never the must have but always a staple).
Are you a stacker? Do you heap or hoard? Perhaps you load and pack? Or are you just a piler? There are so many different approaches to this trend and that it why i think it has had such longevity in an industry that is so fast-paced and always looking for the next 'hot' thing. There are many main attacks to absolutely kill this trend: Keeping your arm in all one metal/fabric. Donning an assortment of metals, stones and fabrics. Subtle small but loaded wrists. Big and bold pieces which grow up your forearm. Small clusters. Large clusters. Selection of every kind either go big or you go understated in quantity or size.
I completely, whole heartedly love this trend however my style is more a small and dainty collection of bracelets and bangles which frame my large gold watch. Yes, watches can be used in this trend to, stylish and practical! I normally keep to either gold or silver however on an occasion during the days just past, i had a new bangle to wear so i added a silver bangle in with my predominantly gold medley.

Gold and silver bangles- Swarovski. Gold watch- Marc By Marc Jacobs. Peace friendship bracelet- from holiday destination, Crete.
The good with with this trend is that there is no way to get it wrong. Honestly. It is a trend completly thriving off of peoples personal styles and aesthetics. Fashion can't dicate or discrimate against with this trend so maybe this is another reason why it seems to have lasted for so long? Or could it be that Leandra Medine AKA The Man Repeller makes it look just so damn fun?!?!
