Carlotta Oddi, Italian and assistant to the outrageously wonderful Anna Dello Russo. It is a ideal yet surreal combination of qualities that culminate into something spectacular.
This weeks Style Icon features a woman at the centre of forward thinking fashion, exploding with true Italian style and dashed with a quirky uniqueness that has trickled down from her boss and mentor. However it is not just the clean, girly and edgy style of Carlotta Oddi, always accessorising with that bow tattoo that has thrusted her to where she currently stands, no, it is also the overwhelming talent this person beholds. Graduating from Politecnico di Milano in Interior Design and then again a couple of quick years later in Fashion Design. Then shortly after securing a job being assistant to Vogue Japan's editor at large- Anna Dello Russo. It now becomes apparent as to why Carlotta Oddi has such a coveted sense of style; understanding the factors and surroundings of Oddi and how she came to construct her own (very fashionable) identity.
Oddi has a signature style, a way of dress that is unique to herself. There are very distinctive aesthetics which are always connected to the name Carlotta Oddi. Whether she decides to ooze that enviable and recognisable Italian dress code, chic, black and timeless. Keeping to those clean cut, feminine silhouettes- which her mother distilled in her as a child shopping in Milan. Or if she decides to add youth into the archetype Italian fashion with more of an edgy, rock spirit. Which ever way Oddi depicts and interprets the effortlessly elegant Italian style she never tarnishes the name or morality of what it is.

Carlotta Oddi works best within the boundaries of simplistic and understated fashions. Her ensembles pieced together so skilfully that to the eye of the beholder it looks organic and surprisingly fluent. Oddi's art of working monochromatic and uncomplicated garments is one to aspire to however it is when she uses colour that her aesthetic becomes even more so straightforward yet bizarrely astonishing difficult and lust worthy.
The style icon sticks to key colours, these colours work well with Oddi and she uses this knowledge to her advantage. When out of the faithful tonal palette of black and white Oddi often sticks to hues of pinks, reds and corals as well as the contrasting and bright nature of yellows, be it neon or not. It is deeply intriguing how even when not dressing in a two tonal colour palette of monochromes that she still manages to work from a colour palette of two other main colours. Essential colour palletting: black, white, pink and yellow. This is a great evolution of ones way to tackle personal style- choosing a colour palette and sticking with it. When Oddi drapes herself within these sweet colours her style seems to become more fun, with that charming pop of playful candy coloured ensembles.
